Weapon: AK47

Description:
The AK-47 is the classic battle rifle. It have survived on the battlefield for more than 60 years and is still a very lethal weapon. In COD it is not the best in any category, but is still a great choice for more aggressive players. It does not have the accuracy to engage effectively at long range, but its decent rate of fire and extremely high damage make it devastating at closer ranges.

Weapon: AK74

Description:
The AK-74u is essentially an assault rifle cut up. It packs a punch heavier than any assault rifle in the game but lacks the range. It also has a low rate of fire for an SMG and its accuracy is ok, but nothing amazing. If you intend to get in close and want a weapon that will definitely put the enemy down this is a good choice at its high damage ensure quick kills up close.

Description:
The Barrett is probably the most imposing rifle in the game due to its very distinctive sound. It is also tied for the most powerful sniper rifle, however its accuracy is no better than any other semi-automatic sniper rifle and it has a slower rate of fire. The other problem with the Barrett is that because of its audio signature everyone knows when you’re firing and will likely come looking for you. The Dragunov is an excellent semi-automatic sniper rifle. It has decent accuracy, a good rate of fire, and extremely high damage. It is a better choice than the M21 because it delivers a slight improvement in accuracy but also a large increase in damage per shot.

Description:
The G3 is the ideal weapon for a battlefield marksman. It’s a semi-automatic so while it can be used at close range it is designed for aimed shots using the sights. It is the most accurate of the assault rifles and packs a decent punch. If you’re looking for a weapon to snipe with that you don’t have to steady the G3 is a great choice.

Description:
The G36C is one of the cooler looking weapons in COD, but lacks when it comes to the actual numbers. It is in the middle of the pack for assault rifles in every category. However this doesn’t make it a useless weapon. It makes it a versatile gun that pretty much every player can find a use for it just doesn’t fit any particular niche very well.

Weapon: M1014

Description:
The M1014 is a semi-automatic shotgun. It only holds 4 rounds, but you can empty them out very rapidly meaning even if you miss with the first shot odds are you will blanket the target with enough rounds to drop them in a rapid manner. Like all shotguns this weapon is designed for close range and make sure you reload often or you will be out of ammo often with this gun.

Weapon: M14

Description:
Like the G3, the M14 is a marksman’s weapon. It is tied for the third most powerful gun in the game and is the most powerful assault rifle. The M14 is also rather accurate although the G3 beats it in accuracy, made up for by the fact that the M14 does 33% more damage. The bottom line is if you can land your shots the M14 is a devastating weapon.

Weapon: M16

Description:
The M16A4 is a reliable assault rifle. It will only fire a three round burst so it is not the most effective weapon for spray and pray type players. However, if you manage to fire all three rounds from the burst into your target it will generally be enough to take them down without additional fire. The M16 is a great all around rifle and can be effectively paired with any upgrade.

Description:
The M21 is a good semi-automatic sniper rifle and is basically the M14 customized for sniping. The weapon is the least accurate sniper rifle and does the least damage. However, it does have a good rate of fire and can be used effectively by a good sniper, but there are better options.

Description:
The M40 is a bolt-action sniper rifle used by the United States Marine Corps. It has had three variants — the M40, the M40A1 and the M40A3. The M40 was introduced in 1966. The changeover to the A1 model was completed in the 1970s, and the A3 in the 2000s.

Weapon: M60e4

Description:
The M60 is the big daddy of LMGs. It is tied as the second most powerful weapon in the game due to its extremely high damage rate. It also packs decent accuracy which becomes excellent when you add a grip. The main drawbacks to the M60 are its low rate of fire and its iron sight. The low rate of fire can be an issue when you and the enemy fire at the same time odds are he will kill you because you won’t hit him with enough rounds before he kills you. The bigger issue though is the sight, when firing rapidly the muzzle flash makes it very difficult to see around the sight and can make it hard to keep your gun on the target at anything beyond close range.

Description:
The MP44 is a tribute weapon from the old COD and is included in the game more as a gimmick than a real weapons system. Its biggest drawback is that because it is a WW2 weapon you can not add any attachments. Also it has a low rate of fire for an automatic and its accuracy is the bottom tied with the AK-47. That being said in the hands of an effective player the MP44 can be a decent gun. It has an extremely high damage value so if you can put your rounds on target you can succeed with this weapon.

Description:
The RPD is a great all around LMG. It has decent accuracy, bumped to great with the addition of a grip. It delivers a relatively high damage rate and also has a pretty good rate of fire. Properly used with a grip the RPD can be as effective as many assault rifles and provide 100 rounds of fire before the need to reload.

Weapon: SAW

Description:
The SAW is the up close and personal choice for an LMG. It’s damage is around half of the other two LMGs, but delivers a very high rate of fire meaning more rounds are sent down range for the same amount of time. Combined with a front grip the SAW becomes extremely accurate and as long as you can ensure enough rounds hit the target the SAW is a great LMG.

Weapon: Skorpion

Description:
The Skorpion has the worst range of any SMG and is only effective at very close range. But if you can get in close to the enemy the Skorpion is very accurate, and has a devastating fire rate and damage. The Skorpion is a poor choice on larger maps as you will be beaten every time at longer distances, but if you are fighting up close and personal the Skorpion will chew through the enemy.

The Uzi is a top choice for SMGs it has good range, excellent accuracy, high damage, and a very high rate of fire. Because of this rate of fire you will need to be sure to fire in brief well-aimed bursts, but if you use the Uzi properly it is an excellent choice for a close-in weapon.
