I like these mash-ups. And Outkast wasn't that bad in any case, their album Atliens was a pretty good listen on a sunny day

"So, even today whenever a storm brews off the Cape of Good Hope, if you look into the eye of the storm, you will be able to see the ship and its captain - The Flying Dutchman. Don't look too carefully, for the old folk claim that whoever sights the ship will die a terrible death."

yeah, Outkast aint bad but when anyone comes out with a song about shoes, necklaces, tshirts....c'mon, i could make a quick buck by making a song about underwear! lol

now songs like Highway To Hell and Stairway To Heaven are good songs...not "white tee's"

While rap and hiphop isn't really my glass of beer, some of those were decent.

This is the song currently owning me right now

Well he really doesnt rap, its all free style. He just gets high and records songs lol. He has i think almost 40 or so albums out. The dudes got MONEY out the ASS!

Oh and dont ever compare him to soulja queer, hes an embarrasment to hip hop.

Oh and Trunks, yeah thats a good song man, i used to get my friends to play that on guitar all the time. But you really cant compare such a slow song to somethin so ''crunkified'' i think is the right word lol.

HAHA

if i willingly listen to rap, it would have to be Eminem; SlimShady LP and Marshal Mathers LP. thats one rapper i would defend...but any other rapper...forget it. dont get me wrong-i like Snoop Dog, Xzibit, Ludacris...they're cool rappers but still. i'd rather choose awesome classic bands such as AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Black Sabbath, BOC, Rush...all of them over ANY rapper..including Eminem.

and the term for them rock songs would be "bitchin" lol

Eminem? LOL his old shit was good but now hes just not so good. And all those rappers you mentioned i mostly hate. Most of the mainstream rappers arent that great. Believe it or not theres different branches of hip hop in itself. You have music like ludacris, and outkast, and then you have rappers like young jeezy, lil scrappy, T.I, shawty LO, rick ross, just for examples, that actually tell storys and rap about true shit.

Although if your not really from the streets then i can understand how you wouldnt be attracted to music like that, and i can respect that, but i dont believe that you can say that its not real music. Rappers are artists just like everyone else, and you cant really hate on them cause when you look at the big picture, they might not have graduated high school or been able to keep a real job, but why should they care, they accomplished something that most people can only dream about. They made it out of the projects, or the ghettos, rags to riches and have more money than they can probably count. If i could do that, i would say fuck a job, fuck an education, why would i need it.

Thats something that i cant really say for the studio gangsters like some of the people you named on that list. Sure there songs are good, but you cant believe half the shit they say. Heres a few artists and songs, where everything they rap about, actually has a meaning, and a message behind it.

T.I- Tellem i said that
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvd7NCz0itQ

T.I- still aint forgave myself (this is a MUST LISTEN)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9DAvPMbSmQ

Young Jeezy- i luv it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzUCff6WAho

Young jeezy- lets get it (great lyrics)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-afrR24mqMQ

Young jeezy- standing ovation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGmECTIcCes

Ok now we venture into the real hardcore thuggish and gritty shit, straight out of Atlanta. Ever since i lived there for 10 years, shit like this went on, the lyrics in these next songs are no joke. (warning, lots of southern slang)

BNDH- No talkin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5ctAlDFOVY

BNDH - felonies
www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLcIcWLW7zE

BNDH- Ridin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOBUb0IdMCU

Young Joc, featuring BNDH- Couple Grand
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVoGLIYPeIQ

ok now we can go into the old school shit, ill just show my favorite.

Too Short- Im a player
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6V9j5qHEqY

These are just a few of the different branches of hip hop. Here you have, trap music (drug dealing), street, and gangster music, and even some old school, kicking back and chillin music. Again if your not really from the streets then i really wouldnt expect you to be attracted to this type of music anyway, but im just trying to point out that just because of the songs you hear on the radio (which mostly suck), shouldnt give you an immediate impression on rap music. Although ill admit, you cant really defend it either, with lyrics about, poppin brians, sellin crack, and gettin you thang sucked LOL.

Oh and Draxus, you mean to tell me Lil Wayne cant freestyle?

...You totally contradicted yourself...I'm not trying to turn this into a flame war or anything but all of the above rappers you mentioned are 100% main stream. Granted T.I is ill and Rick ross is okay sometimes. But shawty LO and Young Jeezy come on really? Better than Snoop and Dre. I don't think so. If you want to hear some real hip hop about true shit dig a little deeper into the underground.

yeha i know man, im not tryin to turn it into a flame fest either, were just having a good conversation is all lol. I love bone thugs, there rapping style is superb. I remember when they first came out , i was hooked. Well i agree i kind of contradicted myself in that staement but you gotta remember, jeezy wasnt always mainstream, he was out way before he hit the big money, and T.I. i have nothin to say about him, hes an extremely talented artist. he took over Atlanta in ONE WEEK! I mean i dont mean to quote lil wayne, but he just jumped straight into hip hop and was like WHERE MY DINNER BE AT?! And hes still wild.

I like a little Dre, and i like alot of Snoop. Im just mainly trying to say, that not all these rappers are true to there lyrics.

Oh and since were on the subject of rapping, i been thinkin of producing a song about jeans with no pockets LOL. you know those jeans girls wear, that dont have any back pockets, and they just make the ass soooo....grippable? Just a thought lol. Now if i can just get fluent in Acid pro.
