Since Thrash metal is a heavy progression of Hard Rock, I think all Metal goes to Hard Rock and related. This might be the reason for the absence of Metal in the list.

I chose Hard Rock.

I grew up on Progressive Rock and later Punk, but listen to pretty much anything now - depends on my mood.

No "all of the above"?

Except Jazz... I hate jazz. I played the violin for 10 years as a kid and I never been fond of flat notes where they don't belong. Whenever I listen to a jazz song, in my mind I start humming the harmony expecting the next note to be something intuitive except it never is. It's always some ghay flat note! Argh!

Agreed. I listen to jazz and can't hear much more than what seems like a random jumble of notes. It drives me crazy.

Ok We all agree that this poll is bad. options suck and no multiple choice sucks too. :) ( atleast instead of hardrock there could have been metal )

Anyways i voted for HardRock as i tend to listen mostly Metal / Rock / Hardrock / Dragonslaying / and all there is to the variation of those. Even though i also listen to punk, classical, blues and even the occasional pop from car radio (when i travel with my wife).

To mention some bands (some ppl might know my taste better already but i have time.

Nightwish (Tarja Turunen era) [Angels Fall First (1997) --> Once (2004)]
