wow you guys are naive.

I was just pokin fun, because none of these were made by anyone here, like some people claim (cough* deathwishhhhhhhhh* cough) .

The images came in a fan site kit which you can get Here

Nice renders ... both of you. What program are you using?
Photoshop CS? If yes have you tried the new CS2? Otherwise known as project "Photoshop SpaceMonkey" when it was in the making lol. I've got it on my PC now, very good.

Yes both probably used something like photoshop.
But technically neither are renders.
What deathwish did was to copy/paste + add text. That's not a render.

Infact, what is mostly reffered to as a render, is when you take a wireframe of somesort and render it in a 3D program such as Max or Maya etc.

I'm with Zero on this one ;) *cough naive cough*

A render is just a cut out fool. He never said he made it himself.

Moebius: Technically, it isn't a true render, but in terms of photoshop users, it is.

Gamerenders.com

People call them stock photos, some call them renders.

To render somethign, you need to process it.
He didn't render anything, he just added.

For him to have rendered it, he would have had to do more than just add text. Nothing rendered when just adding.

Secondly, the only part on the picture he did do "Rendered by Deathwissssh" sure implies it's made by him.

IMO the only reason he called it a render is because he found it in the "renders" folder of the BF2 Fansite Kit.
That folder coincidently is a folder full of images rendered in a 3D program an not displayed in the game engine. Those are renders.

I'm not that fussed to be honest, just that to me, it does imply he was trying to say he rendered it/something.
If not, then why just post a pic we can all get from 100's of sites, totally unchanged with just your name on it...

I use Cinema 4D for rendering.

x 2 ,and a render is what all the vehicles, guns, characters, everything looks like before transforming them into what we actually see in the game, they usually have much more polygons and quality, and then they reduce it but add better textures and bump mapping so it looks similar to the render. ;)

I know both didnt make it. But the one I was mad about was the one that coppied the same idea and just changed minor detail.

You're talking about a true render, which I'm sure most people already know. I can see where you're coming from though.

But in terms of photoshop, most people refer to the stock image as a render, like it or not, that's what they're commonly known as in the graphics community.

RE: Lets See BF 2 Renders!!

Definition of render;

To automatically create a three-dimensional picture according to a model within a computer.

Source

The word render has been mis interrupted by the graphics communitys, maybe becuase its cooler to say they rendered something other than I cut and edited this image.
Defining the way we play.
