AAOTracker.com » Battletracker.com

Hey,

since the merge of our Battlefield, Call of Duty and QuakeWars websites into a single website called http://battletracker.com I am receiving a lot of mails from AOT Members if we also want to merge our AAOTracker.com now with Battletracker.com too. Specially since we have made AAO-Stats available there ...

Basicly we did not had any plans to do this, but then more mails I receive from people who would like this idea to have all stats and services available on a single website, then more we think about the idea to merge both websites and transfer our AOT Stuff and Services to Battletracker.com. A decision was not made yet and I would like to know how you guys think about it !?

For sure, the current AOT Website works fine and basicly you have everything you need here, but it's an "old" website which contains code and stuff which is more then 5 years old. Many things have changed in the last years, we have new Internet-Browsers with new technologies and many other improved stuff. Battletracker.com is a brand new "Web 2.0" website, using the latest technologies to make pages loading faster, looking better and making it much more user friendly for users.

Like already said, the current website works fine but it's also very old and not very easy for us to update something or to add new features. Too many stuff which was coded too dirty years ago. So if we should decide to keep this AOT Website like it is, you can not expect many more updates or new features here on this website. On Battletracker.com you would have the chance again to get many new features and services that we can not offer here.

And that's what I want to know from you! Are you happy with the current site and want to keep it like it is for the next years or would you like some 'fresh wind' and new features ? Basicly you would not lose anything. We would transfer all user-, forum, player and clan-data and all features and services that you know from here, would be available on Battletracker.com too! Services like Serverlist, Buddylist, Player- and Clanstats, Toplists and our whole forums would be available there too. Just looking better and more features would be available there too in the future. So you would not miss or lose anything and also get new stuff! We also could prepare everything for the upcoming Army 3.0 game there too. Here on this "old" website it could get very complicated to 'add' a new game ...

So again: You would not lose anything and keep your accounts, stats, forum posts and everything you have here. But you would have the chance again to get more stats, an improved sig-banner system for better Player-, Clan- and Serverbanners, more Homepage tools, Clan-Guestbooks, ClanWar Calender, more detailed server-, player- and clan-history, a much more user friendly forum-software, support for different languages, an player award system and many many other stuff that you would like!

What do you think ??? It's up to you!

I'd stick with this old page, works fine. Never had any problems with bugs or anything else. Besides, if "we" would share a website with other games I feel that we'd loose alot of the oldies that come here just for the forum, and that would suck.

Well, if we can expecting some new nice features I vote for yes. But as I'm not playing the other games either I want to ask if there will be an option to hide everything else than AOT - otherwise I vote for no.

only 1 thing that i dont like about the battletracker, everything is listed on matches, unlike the AA toplist for example is made by kills order, matches is bad i think... but thats my opinon,

so if the battletracker had it split into parts so u would load battletracker and then select which game u want.. if u know what i mean.

you should decide

this page loads fast, has not overwhelming adds and easy to navigate. In other words, I like it the way it is!
Bigger is not always better.
On the other hand, it saves you a lot of work I guess.
But for me, it would not mean per definition an improvement.

Good luck with your decision.

Hmm..new features and stuff is ok.
Tho im wondering how it goes with the forums, which is for the me, and some others, the most important on the site.
Is everything, including topics/post count/gb/ going to be moved to the other site or??

Right now the forums feel like 'home'.
Im not really sure if we get the same feeling on the new website. This community is our community..
Ofcourse we'll get new blood in the forums, which can make it more fun, tho..im not sure. im not really convinced yet. ?(

Btw, i assume your costs are going down to?

For sure this would be possible. We already have a "favorite game" option available there, so if you select AAO as your favorite game, you will always see AAO Stats when you click on playerstats, serverlists, toplists or whatever and don't have to switch between different games / toplists. It would only show the games that you are active in and which you selected as a 'favorite'.

Everything would get transfered to it and the forums would look basicly identical with the current one. For sure we would merge the "offtopic" and other forums, but the AA Forums would stay like they are. It wouldn't look much different for you ...

No you would not need to register again. Your Account from here would be available there too including all your data, forum posts, stats ... you would not miss anything there.

For sure. AAO is going down ... we have lost 50% of our visitors and forum activity within the last 12 months and it doesn't look it will change until 3.0 comes out. Merging the forums with the battletracker one would probably help to get more activity in forums like offtopic or whatever ...

Quoted

we had good times. But currently we have bad times ;) And again: Most of the stuff would look identical for you! You have your forums, stats and all you need ...

I think it would be a good idea as long as we don't have to fish through the other games stuff to get to AA related items, I don't play any of those other games so I would want to be able to get to my stuff pretty easily like I do now.
