Promote teamwork!?

REMOVE the fragrate and replace it by an "AVERAGE SCORE / ROUND" instead. :dry:

And printing the fragrate under the name ? .. what is that ? :cry: I totally see why some say this tracker promotes lone wolfs and non excisting team work.

This is something wich you enabled yourself :yes:

UserCP/Tracker Control Panel/Show UserStats in your forum-profile ? "NO" and it won't be showing anymore.

well i don't.
Fragrate doesn't influence teamwork on public servers.
If people feel like working as a team they play like that, if they don't they play for themselves. With or without a fragrate.
Most of the time a lone wolf game play won't even get your fragrate up!

things like:

cover fire,
medic operations,
suppresive fire,

does not give you higher fragrate, but it does work well for the team.

and you believe more people would do that if they don't have a fragrate?
i think loads of people that don't have an account here on Tracker have never given cover/suppresive fire.

You can't blame the lack of teamplay on a number, teamwork requires communication. Something that is very hard to accomplish on public servers with people from all around the world with nothing but a chat option.

You have a fragrate.. does it stop you from getting the objective? Covering an objective? Help out a teammate?

It's the person wich ruins teamplay, not a number.

Course it is, it's like anything else that affects people,

Commercials for example, doesn't force anyone 2 do anything, but it sure works, same with high focus on fragrate, (or any focus for that matter).

im not saying it doens't affect them at all, im just saying that without a fragrate the gameplay would be the same as it is now.
Only a small amount of people accually play for teamwork on public servers.
For the rest they just do what they like, most of the time that's killing OpFor.. cuz well this is a FPS.

This is true, however, the army is working hard 2 change that, and that is why they don't support this tracker, in my opinion.

that's also why (If this tracker would like 2 get supported by the army) should try to shift to "teamwork commerical" to use previous analogy.

I guess you mean "option",

if so, you are completely right, however, I'm not talking about me, I'm talking about this tracker, the game, and US army in general, and how they are working against eachothers goals.
(And how this tracker could work more together with the game concept instead of against).

well it's not really that simple.. there have been alot more things going on between tracker and the army. :rolling:

The thing is, we tried to support teamwork with stats that record the amount of objectives you have taken etc. But unfortunatly due to some changes in the game we are limited to track Kills/KIA/Score

So we have done our best to help teamwork, it just doesn't matter what we do, the army won't support us.

But I still belive there is ALOT to do if you would like to promote teamwork on this tracker, (even without advanced stats).

So what else has been going on (beetween the army and this tracker) ? (I've read the "conspiracy-statement" posted here yesterday (the goodbye of the founder i belive it was?)), but I don't give much for the facts-value on that one.

No one is blaming anyone, (that i know), however, what I'm saying is, the tracker has taken a step away from teamwork, compared 2 the game, and that is not good for the tracker.

at this point it's not really important anymore what has happend, what was said and done.
We never tried to be in the armies way and that wont change. We will stop tracking Official servers so our fragrate wont be in their way.
Let's just see how that will effect the gameplay on those servers. We can all only asume what the effect is, in the future we can accually see what the effect really is.

Our next step is to try and get the community back as one, for there are 2 now. With one game there should be one big community.

I c, but I would like 2 know a little background anyway,

when you say there is more that have affected the relationship then the type of tracking that is done, for no other reason than to understand the army better.

about tracker and teamwork:

- a clan requires teamwork in playing
- all clans have a communication system thats needed for teamplay
- most clans plays wars that requires teamwork

so there is one way: use tracker
- for recruiting/clan advert.
- make player-accounts and clans
- join/meet/find clans

so tracker is already promoting teamwork, communication, ......

Well bytheway, will official servers be tracked again, in 2.5, if there isnt any difference? cause i usually play on offical servers, cause there isnt too much lag 2 me...

I can see why some dont like frag rate, or snipers ..cause they suck they cant play decent enough either learning how too shoot except rushing blindly which is actualy lack of talent and skill ..frag rate reflects many aspects of good things more so than the bad ..Just cause a odd few nubs cant handle snipers or tacticians they cry foul and the ones who do cry are the ones whose profiles look weak, and play predominantly for just points and fun and not semi seriously ,ranther than trying too be a good at thier fav map or maps.Yes there are some bad guys who are about just fragrate ..But frag rate reflects skill points,leadership,objective points ect which is all part of stats. Its all math, death verses kills = points in all catagories, esp objctive points which is teamplay.
