This server only allows players with unmodified content to join

Currently running BF2 with the 1.2 patch (no issues). Just loaded the SF expansion pack.

Executed online play from the desktop icon for BF2:SF. I can log-in, look at all of the new SF players and weapons in BFHQ just like in BF2. Everything looks great, allows me to pick a server, loads up the map and as soon as I hit the "Play Now" button I get this error:

"This server only allows players with unmodified content to join"

I have my filters setup for same version only, ranked, not full, not empty, punkbuster on, etc... I get around 500 or so servers that match the criteria (not red). All is good until I get the prompt to play.

I'm going to try deleting the files from "My Documents" to force an account retrieval first (hoping it's just some version recognition error). If that doesn't work I'm open to suggestions.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure about 1.2, but when 1.12 and SF came out, you had to run the 1.12 patch after installing SF, even it you already patched. I would try running the 1.2 patch abain and see if that helps.

Step 1: Install BF2
Step 2: Install BF:SF
Step 3: Install 1.12(if you do not have 1.2 full)
Step 4: Install 1.2 patch

Skip step 3 if you downloaded the larger patch file that was well over 300MB.

So this is what I ended up doing:

1. Deleted "my documents" BF2 folder and tried reloading the 1.12 to 1.2 patch, didn't work .

2. Uninstalled BF2 then uninstalled BF2:SF.

3. Reloaded BF2.

4. Reloaded BF2:SF -
******NOTED THAT DURING THE SF INSTALL IT AUTOMATICALLY PATCHED TO A VERSION 1.1*******
5. Patched to 1.12

6. Patched from 1.12 to 1.2 (incremental).

7. Rebooted pc.

AND IT WORKED!!!!!!

all is good now! Thanks for your help gents!
