Using Suppressor on Weapon

I've heard mixed views in this. Does using the silencer reduce weapon damage or not?

Personally I find the loudness can panic some people and put em' off :shock: :shock:

Any thoughts?

its just for silence!
i always put that on...
but not in COOP maps...bots are afraid of bullets without supressor^^

I always get the feeling that there is less recoil with supressor on, but maybe im wrong...

The only difference is muzzle flash on dark maps. Because the sound of a 'silenced' gun is just as easy to locate as any other sound.

id say, that when the supressor is on you dont get well un-concentrated by the sound. sometimes when your shooting with an AR your like WTF this thing makes to much noise.. and you can relax with a supressor

This game is realistic so the suppressor does in-game what it does in reality. Silences the shot, no muzzle flash ,reduces range but steadies the weapon when firing

It does NOT steady the weapon.

in a real life a silencer doesnt always slow the speed of the bullet... but most of the time it does. its aim is to slow the speed of propellant gases which as a side effect of shooting, this reduces the sound. it does reduce muzzle flash... and technically it does reduce the recoil on a gun. if the gun is heavier (with a silencer on) the gun requires more energy to be kicked back (recoil) the same distance. the bullets always provide the same energy (recoil) and so with a slightly heavier gun it is made slightly steadier and thus should reduce the recoil... however this change in mass in quite small compared to a gun so wouldnt make a large difference, maybe not even notable. all depends on the weight of silencer.

maybe in RL... but AAO is not the RL

just the muzzle flash and the noise is affected.

wow, it's only a optical eye bug. The weapon seems longer when you put it on, hence the recoil on the gun seems less.

I never use the suppressor on anything. You only miss once and someone is shooting back. Go full Auto and burst.

Anyway, I loved the supressor, used it instantly every time I could (unless it denied me some 203 spam, I'd put it on later)
