Critical error

Hello everybody! I haven't been around for like five years or so, but i suddenly felt like i had to play some AA! I've installed all the 2.5 stuff, but immediately when i try to start the game i get a critical error. And i thought i'd never have to see this after, what was it 2.5.1 when the crits got fixed?

Build AmericasArmy_Build_[2004-06-01_02.01.01]

OS: Windows NT 6.1 (Build: 7600)
CPU: AuthenticAMD Unknown processor @ 3214 MHz with 2047MB RAM
Video: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series (1043)

Error setting display mode: CreateDevice failed (D3DERR_DRIVERINTERNALERROR). Please delete your armyops.ini file if this error prevents you from starting the game.

History: UD3DRenderDevice::UnSetRes <- CreateDevice <- UD3DRenderDevice::SetRes <- UWindowsViewport::TryRenderDevice <- UWindowsViewport::OpenWindow <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine <- FMallocWindows::Free <- FMallocWindows::Realloc <- 706D7564 0 FArray <- FArray::Realloc <- 0*2 <- FMallocWindows::Free

Is there anything i can do about this?

If you can start the program without any errors then try change the Resolution. Then try start the game.

I tried resetting and repairing, but it didn't work. I can't even get to the main menu of the game, because i get the error as soon as i try to start it, even when using the AA-icon. I once got it to work, but next time, same story.

The good old game dont like modern OS and hardware that much.

Open up ArmyOps.ini

Locate:
[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
WindowedViewportX=1024
WindowedViewportY=768
FullscreenViewportX=1680 < Change to your screens native res
FullscreenViewportY=1050 < Change to your screens native res

Save and close

Thanks frankof, it's still fun, after not having played for almost 5 years :)
