Names are not wanted on this board, so to protect the innocent, plz dont mention them. Whatever happend, screenies can be altered, stories can be faked.
It's impossible for us to verify any accusation, and threads about abusive or a-social behavior change oftenly into personal flamewars, without contributing anyhing to the subject.

If you have a problem with a clan, take it to their forum, not to this one. There isn't one person here who can do anything about the situation, and this is simply not the place to vent your rant.

Postings about cheats and cheating.

Due to the large number of threads we have to deal with regarding cheats and cheaters the decision has been taken to highlight some of our rules here for more direct access to users.

Here are the rules we have in regards to cheats:

1) Do not post links to cheat sites or available cheat software.

Doing this only makes it easier for those who want to cheat to find them. The majority of people who have been playing this game for a reasonable period of time are very much aware of cheat software and cheat sites. You found a new cheat site or cheat program you are 100% sure we don’t know about? DO NOT POST IT HERE!!! There is nothing that the tracker members or team can do with the information.

I found a cheater, what could i do?
Currently AA:O does not have a live admin service, so there is actually not much that could be done.
The best and most simple way to deal with this situation is to leave the server, and find another. Punkbuster has been implemented, and it works. Alot of cheating accusations are most likely false, and can be chalked up to paranoia from all the hype.

The above advice will also work if you encounter generally annoying players, tkers, etc.

2) Do not name anyone who you think cheats in these forums.

This is to protect the innocent from scandalous accusation. This includes do not link to their tracker stats, do not post images of them, do not post movies of them, do not post conversations you have had with them, etc.

All of the above evidence can be edited. Therefore, it should not be publicly posted. Additional to this the recent outbreak of name spoofing via the "-1" hack increases the doubt as to whether the person you take a shot of is really who they seem to be.

3) Tracker stats prove nothing without other evidence to back them up.

Some players are capable of incredible frag rates etc. through nothing more than pure skill. Many players have started new accounts after gaining considerable experience in the game beforehand. Keep your opinion of another person's stats to yourself.

The same applies for your opinion on why someone chooses to have a private account.

4) The tracker team are moderators first and foremost.

We are volunteers who spend our free time to keep this forum clean and friendly. None of us like or agree with cheating but it is not our priority to hunt down cheats. We do research the information made available to us but we can only do this once our primary functions of moderating the forums and offering support to our users have been completed.

Posting the items listed in rules 1 and 2 of this list effectively reduces the amount of time we can spend on doing something about cheats. If you want to make us aware of suspicious players send incontrovertible evidence to us, PRIVATELY, via pm. We cannot act without substantial evidence and we can only control those aspects which directly relate to the tracker site (tracker accounts).

Rest assured that if there is enough evidence, we will ban every cheating player we find from our site.

Additional information on posting about cheats.

Search: Use the search function, (as always). There is almost always a thread about cheats and cheating already active.

Threads: Starting a thread here to say for example “I was just playing on [insert server name] and some guy was cheating real bad. He headshot my whole team 5 million times in a row, through fog on single shot with an RPK across the length of the map, while sprinting”, adds nothing to this forum. You are not the first victim of cheating, we have almost ALL been there. We know what cheats can do. Threads like this do not invite discussion.

This extends to the "-1" and similar hacks, yes we know there have been people with brightly coloured names which they can change on the fly, yes we know they can fire 203's like bullets, yes we know they are almost impossible to kick. There is nothing we can do about any of this. It is entirely up to pb and the dev team to find a solution to this problem, if you believe you have relevant information to pass on which may help to detect and ban these cheats send it to pb or the devs, we can do nothing with it here.

If, in the future, someone should develop a cheat which gives them sharks with laser beams attached to their heads or absolutely anything else, the above will still be true.

Stats cheating/Reconnecting: Our stats tracker automatically detects reconnecting players and locks their accounts after some time. There is no need to report these players to us.
