Going back to an earlier version?

How realistic would it be, say, to go start a mass movement and go back to an earlier version, like 2.3?

I'm sure there's plenty of people that are willing, but how would servers and such work?

RE: Going back to an earlier version?

Don't know to tell you the truth. Besides players would want newer content than outdated. But there are players that do both! Stay with current version and keep an old version like 2.3 or 2.5 for smooth gameplay!

Why 2.3 when 2.5 actually has server/community support already?

True! But there are some players that reminense past gameplay...

But 2.5 is the version to move to since we be combining linux and Mac users for a strong playing community

Because there is some prior knowledge about AA3.0 that people are irreversibly convinced about.... I think you know what I mean.

Oh, you mean that! I wouldn't judge something that was in beta until it's a finished game! :P

And it is my sincere hope that those that are complaining about playing a beta version that they are not a part of are so turned against it that they decide to leave and never come back.

Don't remember Zait in the Dev team... You mean the most Unofficial game of the year to come out! Don't judge a game that's in a testing phase when it's not finished yet!

Ive already made the decision to move to a past version so whatever u guys wanna do im with ya i used to really love this game pre 2.7 and im sure i still would if people played an earlier version.

My vote is for 2.5 as it had very smooth gameplay for me anyways.

2.5 is where its at.

Back when u were flashed, you were flashed. Back when reloads took moar than 2 sec to complete.

We even have some pretty cool 3rd party maps (like a Pipeline based on its AA3 counterpart) and a Deploy client that actually works -> http://25assist.com

Give assist a run, it will install 2.5 for you and it won't interfere with any other installations of A*A on your computer. 2.5 is the last version avail for Linux & Mac so it will continue to have a community built around it.
