The mAAp Pack Project 5.0 Release!

Yea, remember that Pipeline map we were working on? It's done along with 29 other custom maps for AA v2.5!

How do I get it?
Get 2.5 Assist and install from there. All necessary changes will take place automatically with Assist.

What's new?
Check our Changelog for more info.

Around 60mb including lots of new maps, a modified gui, and a couple other goodies. Work is credit to Spanky, me, some fellows at aa-maps.net, and the gfx and 3d model designers dn and {-Delta-}. I would say that it going through 5 mostly heavy revisions would make it pretty reliable and trustworthy, but then again thats all up to the end user, not us.

Quality? That's person dependent. Me and blueblaster are the only people that edit these maps, there's nothing unfair about them, they won't get you banned, there's no hacks in them. If you want real opinions about it, ask on draat or the mAAp Pack site.

If you know the Ak4 clan, especially Crunk, you would know what they stand for. Right now there's 6 of them playing on their server on a map from this pack. I think that says a lot about trust right there.

Looks good guys!

I'll go check them out asap.

Oh and everyone who don't like 2.5 and don't want to play it, please don't post in this thread.

I believe some of the 2.5 players would have opinions about the new maps in the current version as well.

Well these guys made one hell of a job with it.

I decided to try AA 2.5, and it was a surprise how easy it was with "AA2.5Assist"

This little program does EVERYTHING for you, and no conflicts with existing 2.8.4.

But i didnt see any BorderMap, so i left pretty quick. PS: I reallly, no REALLY hate Bridge...

Border and Dusk is available through Assist but it is no longer in the mAAp Pack. I'm glad you found Assist easy, Jonny has put a lot of effort into the program and it has really paid off.

There is usually a server running border, But there are a lot of maps now and we don't have enough servers to run all the maps all the time.

I haven't seen a Border server in 2.5 for a couple of months now.

Remember, Dusk and Border were the maps that separated 2.5 and 2.6.

With the mAAp Pack 5.0 out, I hardly think you should be concerned about Dusk or Border...

Oh did we get off-topic :D

The new pipeline looks awesome! I can't wait to burn my laptop with it :D No, actually the 4.7 pipeline was harder on my laptop then the new one.

funny you say that your pipeline will stand up to AA3's pipeline.

Have you seen the new version yet, other than a few photos released?

With the limitations in the UE2.5 engine and the desire to have more fps than nice looking graphics, I think we did a pretty damn good job. If you look at the numbers, our Pipeline gives you the same FPS (in some places more) than the original Pipeline. Let's see AA3's Pipeline do that. :)

Also, we could have worked on it more and made it better but that can be done in another version, the community wanted to play it and we can't keep perfecting it forever.

Alright I went through a few of the maps and I'm loving them. I've been waiting for a night version of urban assault for quite sometime, but I imagined it differently. Inside the buildings the only light source would be the lamps themselves and not making the inside as bright as the outside. Otherwise it's very cool.

Urban Assault Night hasn't had much time put into it, I made it when I was pretty inexperienced and it needs some love. I'm glad you enjoy them anyways :)
